Jet lagged is what we is. We is jet lagged and in Buenos Aires.

We arrived here a few hours ago and by midnight local time, Thursday 22nd January will have been around 40 hours long - which is just too long if you ask me.

So to carry on where I left off, the rain did stop and Naomi and I went down the beach and met Sean the kitesurf instructor. The wind was too gusty for water action but Nomes had a fab 2 hour power kite lesson and proved herself to be a natural. We found out that he also ran a clothes shop in Raglan and desgined the T shirts - so the next day we purchased a couple. It's nice to know the designer...I wonder if Stella MaCartney does white water rafting?

Anyway next day...drove up to Aukland, popped into Bob and Grace's hotel to say hi. We missed them but left a message. Last min shopping followed - shoes all round-, then back to Micheala's house and a warm welcome.

We cabbed it into town to meet B and G which was lovely. They were a bit jet lagged but on fomr. They are following the same route as us pretty much with a little less getting wet I think.

B and G went for dinner up the Sky Tower and we met Michaela again. On to the poshest place we've been in the last ten weeks- Pasha. We met the very nice Glyn who runs TVNZ's interactive stuff. He didn't offer Naomi or I a job on the basis of two beers and some dessert wine but we had a good bit of tucker on expenses. (TVNZ's not the BBC's)

Next moring, the morning of Thursday 22nd, the longest day in the world, ever, we were all a little fuzzy except young Hadley (Michealas beautiful son) but we went up the Sky Tower (tallest building in Southern Hemisphere etc) and watched people jump off it. Drove to the Airport and you know the rest.

I love New Zealand. Its very beautiful and the people are friendly and you don't have to jump off things if you don?t want to.

So maybe one or two more days blogging to go. I think I'll miss it.

Done nothing today. Well, ate TV, watched breakfast, drank Yahtzee and Scrabble and played tea. That's about it. The Kite Surfing never came about because it has been raining very hard all day. Even if I could upload pics there wouldn't be much to see, tho I have to admit that the one with Moose and no antlers is pretty sad. I can however update the map. As you can see we are nearly back where we started.

We go to Auckland tomorrow to stay with Michaela and to meet Bob and Grace. (Uncle and Aunt for those who don't know...Bob IS my uncle)

Hey it's stopped raining may we can get busy with a kite after all. Come on Nomes let's go.........

Morning.

We are still in Raglan (on the west rather than the east coast as I incorrectly said the other day) We have just spent a lovely couple of days with Pete and Gemma. We have been hoping to catch up with them all trip and as we sat here reading our email saying they were on their way, in they walked. They stayed with us at our very cool little cottage and we ate dinner and chatted. Gemma kindly lent me her boogie board and Pete and I went surfing on Raglans left hand break. It was in the surf movie "Endless Summer" apparently. I think my perfomrance would have ended up on the cutting room floor. Good fun tho.

They have just left and Nomes and I are doing nothing much. I might be kitesurfing this avo but its started raining........

We are very excitied about comeing back to the UK especially as on the Sunday we get back we are going to my Uncle John's 80th Bithday party where the entire family will be. It's gonna be great. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

And to top it all Ive got the comments working again tho unfortunately I've lost all the old ones. So come on then got anything to say?

Kisses

Hi All,

Much happier now. I discovered that I had, by mistake, backed up half of the lost images so in the end I only lost 3.5 days worth. Hey it was only sea and sand. The camera is working fine now but I'm not on a machine that can cope with them. In fact, I think you'll have to wait for a while as Naomi and I have decided to stop. Not blogging but moving. We are having a holiday. We have been on the move for 9 weeks and today we arrived in Raglan, a surf town on the east coast of the North Island. We have booked 5 nights in a little cottage and here we will stop until we return to Auckland and then to Buenos Aires and finally Gatwick. Plans to come back earlier for Nell's christening have fallen through. (Sorry Quint) and so we will hopefully be back on Sunday 25th of January.

We plan to do nothing here for a while tho there is a kite surfing school which I'm thinking about calling, Nomes might come too! So don't stop reading as there may be injuries or stories of kites up trees.

Before we arrived here today we climbed Mount Raupahu (well nearly) and I told the woman at the clothes shop (when we came back down) how her volcano was now even more famous cos it was on the internet in Doctor Who, in the first epsiode of Scream of The Shalka. She seemed bemused frankly.

Finally sorry for the lack of comments. I dont know whats happened. Can anyone drop me an email if they know what's wrong (Tom Dolan I'm thinking oif you if you haven't got enough on your mind)

-update- Tom, you can can go back to worry about Vicky and your new arrival, I found the answer here and the comments should be back soon. Good luck guys. (the Dolans not the guys working on the database transfer of the comments, tho I wish them luck too)

Anyway tara for now.

Hi All,

Was pretty happy but now I'm not.

Just popped into a web cafe to tell you of all our adventures. Used their card reader to see the pics and it wiped the lot. Nothing left. Luckily I made a CD about a week and a half ago but all the pics from the Abel Tasman, the Glaciers and Milford Sound have gone. I am a little sad. The card also appears to be knackered so I cant take any more. I think a trip to a camera store is required. There is a slim chance that I may be able to get them back.

Oh well I shall paint the scene with words.

We went n to the Park three days ago. Sandy beaches, palm lined shores, clear blue waters.

We treked for the morning to a place called anchorage where set up camp. Chilled on teh beach and got a bit burnt. The next day we walked 20K along the shorte trak to the Lodge we were staying at. A 5 star gaff our little treat. For lunch Naomi and I I had quiche which had maggots in it. I was very nice and they were very nice and we got free beer and coffee. The meal in the evening was superb and we got fanatstic service unsurprisingly.

We saw the obligatory dolphins in the bay earlier which was great. Today we got the Aqua Taxi back and I spent 1.5 hours learning to kite surf. I haven't quite got it yet but was really great fun. Nomes and I then drove up to Nelson where we are now. The loss of our pics is sinking in more and I think I want to leave and get a beer. Tara.

Oh yeah one more thing. We left Moose in the car to guard it. The sun melted his glue and his antlers fell off. He isn't happy either.
