What are your 2006 reading resolutions? The Culture Vulture asks the question with fairly predictable responses (read stuff I've bought already before buying more new books, read rather than watch Holby City, read stuff I really ought to read like War and Peace etc.) I'm glad to note that the Guardian Unlimited Books Editor, Sarah Crown, has decided to make a note of the books she has read "so that I don't look like a slack-jawed idiot every time I'm confronted with the question "So what good books have you read this year, then?"" Clearly a woman after my own heart.
My response would be:
- Blog more about books I've read;
- Keep up with reading for my MA;
- Make sure reading for the MA doesn't prevent me from reading other stuff I like/own/have bought and been meaning to read for years;
- Not buy my husband books that I want;
- Read thematically (books on Africa was a bit of a theme this year, I can feel one on Germany coming up...) and look for connections in the themes;
- And, if time, read War and Peace!
