Just thought you might be interested in this article by Jeanette Winterson in the Times today. I am not sure if the link works, but, in case not, it's a variation on a theme-which books would you take to your desert island. According to JW, and I agree, "Sharing certain books is like telling a secret...the quickest way to intimacy is not to share a bed or a holiday, but to share a book."
