If the Rose Tremain is as good as Restoration, which I read years ago, it will be great. And what a good price!
I do read reviews, so thanks for the NYT which I would not have thought of, although I tend to prefer quality American cultural journalism more than ours-it just seems more quirky somehow. I am also a flaneur (or flaneuse, if you prefer) in bookshops. It's an addiction!
