Happy Boxing day!
We had a wonderful day yesterday, the best bit of which was taking to all our family on the phone. I had a little bit more luck with the phone card than Naomi but is was still so nice to talk to you all and we miss you loads. Hope you had a brilliant time.
So after looking at the geezers and the thermal pools around Rotorua, Nomes and I went to have a steam in the thermal baths.
The afternoon saw us watching Lord of The Rings (almost as good as the Great Escape for Christmas Day) and then a lovely dinner in the hotel. Nomes didn't want to wear her paper hat out the cracker, but other than that the day was perfect.
Today Nomes returned to the spa for a massage and a soak and is now extrmely relaxed. I decided to raft over the highest commercially rafted bit of river in the world. We did a Maori prayer before hand.
An now I'm extremely relaxed too.
We are off for lunch and off to Napier the Art Deco coastal town. Hope you are all enjoying yourselves. Later.
Merry Christmas,
I still haven't heard Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End) by the Darkness. So is it great or not? Please let me know.
Needless to say it's not snowing here tho it has rained pretty much non stop since we got here. The clouds have just broken and I've just come off the beach where I went "BloKarting".........yeah thats what I said.
Last night we camped in Cromandel which was great, curry on the camp stove and all that.
After having taken a hike along the costal path. It was at his point we realised that New Zealand is as beautiful as everyone says.
Got up at 6 this morning and went to Cathederal Cove which is a really beautiful bay with a rock sticking out of the sea in it.
Then on to Hot Water Beach. This is a surreal place where super-heated water from a volcano runs out into the sea. You can dig holes in the sand then stand in them as the boiling water and the sea mix together. It was really weird but fun.
We are heading down to Rotorua tonight where we will spend Christmas. Apparently it smells of rotten eggs cos of the sulpher. So a similar smell as if I'd been cooking Xmas dinner then.
Nomes and I are missing everyone back home but we hope you have a fantastic time tomorrow. Take care all and Merry Christmas!
