So we jumped on the plane yesterday at around 3pm in Madrid. Poor old Lisa was having a hell of a time, they wouldn't give a seat to her kid so she had the prospect of spending 12 hours with Ruby on her lap. In comparison the lack of on-demand video on personalised screens ala Virgin Atlantic didn't seem too serious. In fact things did get worse as the in-flight movie was "Gigli". It is that bad. Actually the flight was fine and we got to Buenos Aires at 12.30 am and got a taxi just in time to reach the
V&S Hostel before it closed. Slept.
So today Buenos Aires. It is a really exciting city, European like a cross between Budapest, Seville and somewhere else I haven't been. We wondered around and saw all the sites in the centre of town. Like where Evita stood on the balcony and sang with Jonathan Price. The square is still a centre for political demonstration and there are weekly demos to highlight the crimes of the previous military regime. The memorial to the soldiers who died in the South Atlantic conflict is also moving. I never realised so many Argentinian's had died.
We got our bus tickets to go to the Igazu Falls and will depart tomorrow at 3 so hopefully in the morning I can persuade
Naomi to go on a tour of the Boca Juniors stadium before hand. Off to find a beer or two in mo and then to eat steak....shouldn't be too difficult! The city is filled with the most fantatstic smells. PS if you have read this could you comment just once to say "hi" or "plank" or something. Decided I need someone to read this if I can be bothered to keep it up. I am very needy if you didn't already know. For the technically minded no photos today as there isn't a USB port on this computer.
